Texans wide receiver Tank Dell’s trainer shared a video over the weekend showing Dell running routes without issue, a positive sign regarding his condition after being shot a few weeks ago. On Tuesday, there was more good news about Dell’s health, as he continues to progress in his recovery.
Dell was one of 10 people injured in a shooting incident in Florida in late April. Despite having no connection to the shooter, Dell sustained minor injuries. Head coach DeMeco Ryans mentioned that Dell has been participating fully in the team’s OTA practices and expressed his happiness at seeing Dell back on the field.
Ryans stated, “Happy for Tank to get back out there. He went through a very tragic situation. We’re just happy that he’s here, happy that he’s back out being able to do what he loves doing and that’s playing football.” He also mentioned how exciting it is to see Dell performing well on the field again, making plays and contributing as he did before.
Before his injury last December, Dell was having a standout rookie season. With his return to full speed, the Texans are looking forward to having him, Nico Collins, and Stefon Diggs as key players catching passes from C.J. Stroud in the upcoming season.
