Developing a sickness from brunching habit

In Hanoi, Thuy, a 30-year-old woman, was feeling depressed after receiving her exam results. She had been diagnosed with severe digestive diseases which she attributed to her habit of combining breakfast and lunch into one meal. Thuy, who lived in Dong Da, had developed the routine of skipping breakfast and eating a combined meal due to her late waking habits. As an IT worker with multiple part-time jobs, she often stayed up late, sometimes until 3 a.m., leading to a disrupted eating schedule.

Thuy began experiencing symptoms such as epigastric pain, belching, heartburn, reflux, loss of appetite, and difficulty sleeping. After seeking medical advice, she was diagnosed with gastritis, HP, and reflux due to her irregular eating habits and late-night activities. Similarly, another woman named Dung, 29 years old, had also suffered weight loss and digestive issues due to skipping breakfast and eating late at night.

Experts emphasized the importance of a balanced and timely diet, including breakfast as an essential meal to kickstart the day. Breakfast provides the body with essential nutrients and energy after a long period of fasting, contributing to overall health and well-being. Skipping breakfast can lead to various health issues such as digestive problems, fatigue, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating.

Research has shown that skipping meals, especially breakfast, can have adverse effects on health, leading to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and other health issues. Establishing a routine of eating breakfast before 8 a.m. and focusing on balanced nutrition is crucial for maintaining good health. Limiting sugar and processed foods, and controlling portion sizes can help in achieving a healthy diet and lifestyle. It is important not to starve or skip meals, but rather focus on nutritious and wholesome foods to support overall health.
