The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County has issued a water quality advisory for Palma Sola South, located on the east end of the Palma Sola Causeway and the south side of Manatee Ave West. Tests conducted on Monday and Wednesday revealed that the water quality at Palma Sola South does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health. As a result, the department advises against any water-related activities at this location due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers.
According to DOH-Manatee, sampling during regular water quality monitoring indicated that the level of bacteria exceeds the state guidelines. The advisory will remain in place until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level. Those interested can check the test results at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.
It is important to heed this advisory and avoid swimming or any other water-related activities at Palma Sola South until it is deemed safe for public use. Your health and safety are a top priority, and following the guidelines laid out by the Florida Department of Health will help ensure a positive experience at the beach. Stay informed and stay safe while enjoying the beautiful waterways in Manatee County.
