Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia has welcomed Dr. Kimberly Beavers, MD, MPH to its medical staff. Dr. Beavers will be offering gastroenterology services to patients in the Danville area. Her expertise will help expand access to gastroenterology care for residents of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and the surrounding region.
Steve Heatherly, the Market President of Sovah Health and the Chief Executive Officer of Sovah Health – Danville, expressed excitement about Dr. Beavers joining the team. Dr. Beavers completed her Doctor of Medicine, residency, and fellowship in gastroenterology and transplant hematology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is Board Certified in Gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an active member of several gastroenterology organizations.
Dr. Beavers will provide gastroenterology services to patients at Sovah Health – Danville’s Emergency Room and Inpatient Units. Sovah Health is a regional healthcare system serving south-central Virginia and north-central North Carolina. It consists of two hospital campuses, one in Danville and one in Martinsville. The Danville campus is a leading medical center in the Dan River Region, employing around 1,000 people and with 175 physicians on the medical staff.
The Martinsville campus has been serving the Martinsville and Henry County community since 1970, with more than 120 physicians on the medical staff and over 800 employees. Dr. Beavers’ addition to the team will help Sovah Health continue to provide high-quality healthcare services to the region.
