Drone Technology Used for Hawaiian Electric Aerial Inspections in Kāʻanapali Area on April 3: Maui Now

On April 3, 2024, at 4:00 AM HST, Hawaiian Electric will be using drones for aerial inspections of its infrastructure in the Kāʻanapali, West Maui area. The inspections are scheduled to take place from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, weather permitting.

The company’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program is fully compliant with all Federal Aviation Administration rules. Hawaiian Electric has implemented safety, training, operating, and privacy procedures to ensure that the drones are flown with the utmost regard for the safety of the public and crews.
