In downtown Tyler, a historic landmark, the Blackstone Building, received a cleaning from a drone provided by Poseidon Power Washing. The building, which currently houses the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, had accumulated decades worth of grime and gunk on its exterior. The soft washing drone used by Poseidon Power Washing is capable of cleaning buildings up to 10 stories high, making it a cost-effective and safe alternative to using lifts and suspending employees at such heights.

Jeremy Nelson from Poseidon Power Washing explained that the drone can effectively clean the building without causing any damage. By starting at the top and working their way down in layers, the drone is able to remove dark algae and limestone casting from the building’s surface. The soft wash process is gentle yet effective, ensuring that the historic building is not harmed in the cleaning process.

Unlike traditional pressure washing techniques that can damage building exteriors, soft washing uses low pressure and relies on chemicals to do the cleaning work. This approach is particularly important when dealing with historic buildings like the Blackstone, which was built in 1938 and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. By using soft washing techniques, Poseidon Power Washing was able to safely and effectively clean the Blackstone Building without causing any harm.

After the drone cleaning, the Blackstone Building is now looking a little bit cleaner and more well-maintained. The use of innovative technology like drones for cleaning historic landmarks demonstrates the commitment to preserving and protecting these important structures for future generations to enjoy.
