The Tennessee State Sports Medicine Department recently hosted a sold-out Dry Needling Course at the Gentry Center in Nashville. The three-day event attracted over 40 medical professionals, showcasing the growing interest and importance of advanced treatment methods in sports medicine. The course was designed to develop knowledge, safety, and clinical skills needed to effectively assess and deliver dry needling treatment for painful neuromuscular conditions. It included interactive lectures and hands-on labs to provide attendees with comprehensive training and practical experience.

Trevor Searcy, TSU’s Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine, and Assistant Athletic Trainer Jeremy Hall participated in the three-day event. Searcy mentioned, “Hosting this course is huge for TSU Sports Medicine! Having over 40 medical professionals on our campus helps expand our brand and secures our place as a leader in the field of sports medicine.” This event emphasized Tennessee State University’s dedication to advancing the field of sports medicine and promoting professional development within its community. By hosting training sessions like these, TSU continues to strengthen its sports medicine education and practice.

The Dry Needling Course offered medical professionals a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting athletes and patients through improved treatment methods and care. TSU’s commitment to hosting such events not only helps its own community of medical professionals but also contributes to the overall advancement of sports medicine as a whole.
