The United States is planning to bring air conditioning to the 2024 Paris Olympics, as Paris’ Olympic village does not have it in an effort to be more eco-friendly. Several countries, including the U.S., will be bringing their own air conditioning units to ensure the athletes and staff are comfortable during the games.
In other news related to the 2024 Paris Olympics, iconic sports broadcaster Al Michaels will be part of the coverage in a unique way. NBC announced that they will be using artificial intelligence to replicate Michaels’ voice, delivering personalized daily Olympic recaps for viewers. The “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock” will provide users with a customized playlist of highlights from the previous day’s events, narrated by a high-quality A.I. version of Michaels’ voice.
Michaels, who is currently the play-by-play voice of Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football,” was initially skeptical when NBC approached him about using A.I. to create a replica of him. However, after hearing the A.I. version of his voice, he was amazed at how closely it matched his signature expertise and elocution.
There will be nearly seven million possible personalized variants of the “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock” feature during the Olympics, which will be available to Peacock users on the app starting July 27th, one day after the opening ceremonies of the Summer Games. Michaels’ A.I. replica will bring a unique and innovative perspective to the Olympic coverage, enhancing the experience for viewers.
