The SMPTE Media Technology Summit 2024 is an annual media technology conference hosted by the Society where industry leaders gather to share research findings and professionals can network and learn from each other. This year’s Summit will be held at the Ovation Hollywood in Hollywood, California from October 21-24.
Marc Zorn, SMPTE Hollywood Chair and Conference Co-Chair, anticipates that this year’s Summit will be bigger and better than previous years. Instead of a traditional keynote address, featured speaker sessions will be held where key filmmakers discuss the roles that technologies and SMPTE play in their creative process.
Attendees of the Summit will have access to peer-reviewed technical sessions, invited presentations, and panels, as well as unique features like the Solutions Hub and the new Tech Trek. The Tech Trek will offer guided interactive tours of exhibits showcasing the discussed technology, giving participants a hands-on experience and the chance to meet the leaders behind the technology. There will also be off-site experiences available on October 24 for interested participants.
Zandra Clarke, SMPTE Director of Membership and MTS Co-Chair, believes that the 2024 Media Technology Summit will cater to everyone’s needs, whether it be for learning, networking, or career advancement. The tools provided by SMPTE are there for industry professionals to use wisely to succeed in their fields.
Early bird pricing for the conference will be available from June 10 to July 31.
