England spinner Jack Leach has signed a new two-year contract with Somerset, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2026 season. The 33-year-old has 36 Test caps and has taken 126 wickets for his country at an average of 34.40. Born and raised in Taunton, Leach has spent his entire career at Somerset, making 162 appearances across first-class, List A, and T20 formats, and taking 466 wickets.

Expressing his gratitude and excitement for the future, Leach stated, “Somerset is home and I feel very lucky to continue to represent the club I love.” He also acknowledged the support he received from the club and fans during his injury layoff, mentioning that he is eager to repay that faith with strong performances on the pitch.

Currently, Somerset is placed third in the County Championship Division One table, with Leach hoping to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming matches. The new contract reflects the club’s confidence in his abilities and commitment to building a strong team for the seasons to come.
