At Conversations, our annual business messaging event, we shared the latest product updates to help people and businesses do more on WhatsApp. From answering customer questions to discussing products and finalizing a purchase, messaging plays a crucial role in helping businesses get business done efficiently.
One of the key updates we discussed at Conversations is the use of AI tools to help businesses better assist their customers on WhatsApp. By training AI to respond to common customer queries, businesses can quickly provide the information customers are looking for. AI tools also help businesses create ads on Facebook and Instagram, which can remind customers of items left in their cart or offer discounts on purchases they have been considering.
Another important update is the rollout of Meta Verified on the WhatsApp Business app in Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Colombia. When a business is Meta Verified, it means that they have registered their information with Meta, providing enhanced account support and protection against impersonation. Businesses with Meta Verified status can also use WhatsApp across multiple devices for their employees, providing a more seamless communication experience for both businesses and customers.
In addition, WhatsApp is introducing the ability for customers to call larger businesses in just one tap. This feature is especially useful for situations where speaking with someone live can help resolve complex issues, such as making a complicated travel request or discussing account opening with a bank. This feature is currently being tested and will be expanded to more businesses in the coming months, making it easier for customers to get the assistance they need.
