The latest edition of the ‘Progression of World Athletics Records’ has been released by World Athletics Heritage in both printed and ebook formats. To celebrate the release of this essential reference work, 10 printed copies of the book are being offered as prizes.

Originally published by World Athletics in 1987, this edition of the book is once again edited by ATFS member Richard Hymans. The publication of this edition was made possible by the generous support of Mark Takada from Canada. The book showcases the achievements of athletes who have set World Athletics records, highlighting the ultimate accomplishment in the world of athletics.

In his message as the president of World Athletics, Sebastian Coe emphasized the significance of world records in the sport. He pointed out the rarity of Olympic gold medals being won with world records, showcasing the immense challenge that athletes face in achieving this feat. Coe also highlighted memorable moments in his own events, the men’s 800m and 1500m, where world records have been set only a handful of times.

The book, available in both ebook and printed formats, is priced at US$30 including postage and packing. Orders can be made through World Athletics by contacting them directly. Additionally, there is a chance to win one of 10 printed copies of the ‘Progression of World Athletics Records’ by participating in a competition. The winners will be chosen at random and contacted by World Athletics after the competition deadline.

For those interested in getting a copy of this valuable resource, both the ebook and printed versions are accessible. Whether you want to expand your knowledge of world athletics records or add a fascinating read to your collection, this book offers a comprehensive look at the achievements of athletes who have pushed the boundaries of human capability.
