Students at Lee Elementary School participated in their first entrepreneurship fair, where they learned valuable skills in creating their own businesses and managing finances. Inspired by the book “Make Your Own Money” by Ty Allen Jackson, students embarked on a journey to develop businesses that were unique to their talents and interests.

Throughout the process, students learned how to craft business plans, create budgets, and effectively market their ideas. They designed business cards, slideshows, and presentation boards to showcase their entrepreneurial endeavors. From dog-walking services to tree removal, babysitting, and food and drink sales, the students explored a wide range of business opportunities.

The event was part of a broader initiative by Lee Public Schools to enhance financial literacy among students from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Fifth grade teacher Michele Puleri emphasized the importance of teaching students about concepts such as credit scores, investment accounts, and savings accounts. The entrepreneurship fair served as a hands-on experience for students to put their knowledge into practice.

Author Ty Allen Jackson was present at the fair to engage with students, discuss their businesses, and sign books. Many students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn how to manage money effectively and felt inspired to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams in the future. The event was not only educational but also empowering for students as they navigated the world of business and finance.
