Ex-CEO of Vail Resorts, Rob Katz, to be honored with induction into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame

Former Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz is among the 2024 inductees into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame according to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain. Katz became CEO of Vail Resorts in 2006 and revolutionized the ski industry by creating the Epic Pass.

The release stated that Vail Resorts has grown from five to 41 resorts under Katz’s leadership, and employment at each resort and the Broomfield headquarters has increased. Katz is also a noted philanthropist and continues to be involved in the strategic operations of the company despite stepping down as CEO in 2021.

Other honorees in the 2024 Colorado Business Hall of Fame include Rose Andom, owner of several McDonald’s franchises and philanthropist, Pat Hamill founder of Oakwood Homes, John A. Ikard, former CEO of FirstBank, Steve Schuck founder of Schuck Communities (now Schuck Chapman Cos,) and Elizabeth Hickok Robbins Stone (1801-1895), one of the founders of the city of Fort Collins.

The induction ceremony will take place on February 15 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center and will be hosted by Denver7’s Brian Sanders. For more information, visit ColoradoBusinessHallofFame.org.
