Perry Eliano spent two seasons as Ohio State’s safeties coach in 2022 and 2023 before his contract expired and the Buckeyes did not seek to renew it. He was highly anticipated after being recruited from Cincinnati, where he coached cornerbacks and developed players like Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner. However, the results during his time in Columbus did not meet Ryan Day’s expectations.
After a long wait for a new coaching position, Eliano has landed a job as the cornerback coach at Toledo. Hailing from Texas, he has previously worked at Bowling Green, Cincinnati, and Ohio State, and now continues his coaching journey in Ohio at another MAC school.
Eliano will be replacing Corey Parker at Toledo, who recently moved on to Illinois. With his experience at top programs like Ohio State and Cincinnati, he brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to his new role with the Rockets.
Sources have confirmed that Perry Eliano is officially joining Toledo as their new corners coach. With his background coaching at prestigious football programs and developing standout players, he is expected to make a significant impact on Toledo’s defense.
