The former Chapel Hill Mall, situated in Akron between Brittain Road, Buchholzer Boulevard, and Howe and Independence avenues, has undergone a transformation into a business park that is now owned by Industrial Commercial Properties and Storage of America. The complex, which spans 900,000 square feet in size, was redeveloped into a modern industrial and commercial space.
ICP now owns a majority of the complex at 2000 Brittain Road, which consists of 715,000 square feet spread over 60 acres of land. Storage of America has also acquired a portion of the former mall, with a building spanning 169,000 square feet that was formerly occupied by Macy’s. Additionally, Storage of America owns 8 acres of land within the business park.
Currently, there is approximately 40,826 square feet of space available for lease in the business park. Since the mall closed in 2021, four new businesses have moved into the complex, bringing new life to the area. Storage of America had already purchased the former Macy’s building in 2019, laying the groundwork for the redevelopment of the former Chapel Hill Mall into a vibrant business park.
