Exile Brewing Co. Takes Home Silver Medal for G.G. at the World Beer Cup

The World Beer Cup awards were announced on Tuesday night, with one Iowa brewer emerging victorious. Known as the “Olympics of beer competitions,” the World Beer Cup is widely regarded as the largest and most prestigious beer competition globally. This year, the competition awarded medals for 110 beer styles at a ceremony held in Las Vegas.

Exile Brewery Co. in Des Moines was awarded a silver medal for its Munich-style dunkel, G.G., following stiff competition from 65 other breweries worldwide. Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant in Topeka, Kansas, took home the gold for its Munich Dunkles, while Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia, Illinois, received a bronze for its Wilson Street Dunkel.

During the 2024 competition, 290 judges from 37 countries evaluated 9,300 beers from 2,060 breweries representing 50 countries. The event not only showcases the best beers from around the world but also highlights the skill and dedication of brewers worldwide.
