The Woodlands Art Gallery & Studios recently hosted an opening reception for the “Vibrant Visions: The Abstract World of John Austin Stone” art show, featuring abstract art by Jay Stone. The event took place on May 16th, drawing in attendees who had the opportunity to view the art collection, meet the artist, and enjoy refreshments. The exhibit will be on display until July 12, 2024, at the gallery located at 208 Nursery Rd. in The Woodlands, TX 77380.
The atmosphere at The Woodlands Art Gallery & Studios has been described as more of a “home in the woods” rather than a typical art gallery. Many of the furnishings in the space are from the gallery owner’s former home, giving it a cozy and welcoming feel. Owner Emily Chiles Startz, an artist herself, moved to The Woodlands, Texas in 2021 and opened the gallery to showcase the work of regional artists as well as her own creations, including abstracts, landscapes, and portraits. In addition to selling art from featured artists, the gallery also displays art on a consignment basis from local artists and holds used book sales in their Reading Room.
The Woodlands Art Gallery & Studios is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
