The Minnesota Department of Health reports that approximately 1.5 million Minnesotans have pre-diabetes, but shockingly, only one in four are aware that they have it. This means that there are a large number of people at risk of developing diabetes without even knowing it. However, the bright side of being diagnosed with pre-diabetes is that it gives individuals the opportunity to take proactive steps to reduce the likelihood of it progressing to full-blown diabetes.

To gain further insights into this issue, we had a discussion with KSTP health expert, Dr. Archelle Georgiou.
