Exploring the Functionality and Practicality of a Wheel-less Bicycle: What Can It Achieve in Terms of Speed?

Sergii Gordieiev, known as “The Q” on YouTube, is a creator who understands that great inventions can come from crazy ideas. His channel is devoted to engineering, science, design, and more, showcasing his most innovative creations. One of his previous quirky inventions included a bicycle with split wheels, and another with square wheels, showing his fascination with unconventional vehicles. Currently, he is working on a new model that challenges the traditional concept of a bicycle by not using wheels at all.

The new model features a track system with a belt wrapped around it, similar to a tank, providing excellent grip on various surfaces. In a recent video, Gordieiev demonstrates the functionality of this wheel-less bicycle, showcasing its unique design and maneuverability. While the vehicle is fully functional, it may not be the most practical solution due to its limited speed and turning capabilities. The caterpillar wheels reduce the contact surface with the ground, affecting its overall performance.

In the video, Gordieiev shares the entire manufacturing process of the bicycle, focusing on the creation and installation of the caterpillar wheels on the frame. Despite its experimental nature, the inventor proves that his invention can indeed move forward and backward with some ease. Although this design may not be a commercial success, Gordieiev created it for the pure joy of experimentation and creativity. As he humorously stated, “Why did we do it? Just for fun 😅🤪”.
