FC Bayern has signed defender Josip Stanisic for the long term. The 24-year-old will receive a contract until June 30, 2029, as announced by the German record champions. Stanisic was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen last season, where he achieved success with the German championship and cup. Unfortunately, Stanisic and Croatia were eliminated in the preliminary round of the European Championship this week.
Stanisic expressed his gratitude to Leverkusen for the learning experience he gained both on and off the pitch. He stated his future goals with FC Bayern as giving his all and winning as many titles as possible for the club. Stanisic has a strong connection to Munich as it is his hometown, and he is excited to be back.
Having moved from SC Fürstenfeldbruck to FC Bayern’s U17 juniors in 2017, Stanisic has made significant progress in his career. He has played in 41 competitive matches for the professionals and scored one goal. Sporting director Max Eberl commented on Stanisic’s achievements and expressed excitement for the future with him.
In addition to Stanisic, FC Bayern also extended the contract of young midfield star Aleksandar Pavlovic until 2029. Pavlovic, who has been with Bayern since he was seven years old, made his debut in the senior team last season under coach Thomas Tuchel. The 20-year-old received his first professional contract in November until 2027. He missed the European Championships due to health reasons.
