Federal Investigators take over failed Graceland foreclosure attempt

The Tennessee Attorney General’s office has referred their investigation into the failed foreclosure attempt of Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate to federal investigators. According to a statement from the office, they believe that this matter is best suited for federal law enforcement and have faith that their federal partners will handle it appropriately.

In May, actress Riley Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, filed a lawsuit against Naussany Investments, which claimed to hold the deed to the property. Naussany alleged that Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away in 2023, had used the estate as collateral for a $3.8 million loan that she failed to repay. Keough accused Naussany of fraud and sought to protect the estate from foreclosure. A Shelby County Chancery Judge granted Keough’s request and stopped the sale, prompting Naussany to drop their foreclosure efforts.

The Attorney General’s office had previously mentioned that they were looking into possible fraud related to the case. The Department of Justice has declined to comment on the matter at this time.
