FIFA has announced a partnership with Rocket League to include the rocket-powered cars playing football game in the upcoming FIFAe World Cup. This collaboration will feature 16 nations from around the world competing in the event. Fans were asked to choose which nations they would like to see compete in the tournament.
In a press release, FIFAe described this partnership as a significant step in their commitment to promoting global growth in football esports. The inclusion of Rocket League in the FIFAe World Cup highlights the game’s connection to traditional football, despite its unique features like jet-powered cars and giant balls.
Each participating country will have a team of three players and one alternate, representing their nation’s colors. The selection of the 16 countries will be based on the number of representatives they have had in previous Rocket League Majors. The chosen member associations will host their own qualification tournaments to select the players who will compete in the FIFAe World Cup.
Players who are interested in participating can sign up on FIFA’s esports platform and choose Rocket League as their preferred game. More details about the event and the participating associations will be announced by FIFA at a later date.
