The Tulsa World is once again recognizing the top high school athletes in the Tulsa area with the All-World Awards. Finalists for winter sports will be announced this week, including boys basketball, swimming, and wrestling. Girls basketball finalists will be announced on Saturday, followed by the All-State boys and girls basketball on Sunday.
Do you have a favorite high school fan, mascot, band, cheer squad, or dance team? Cast your vote now in the Fans of the Year contest. Last fall, athlete of the year finalists were announced for football, cross country, volleyball, and softball.
The All-World honors cover a variety of sports, including boys basketball, boys and girls wrestling, boys and girls swimming, football, softball, volleyball, and girls and boys cross country. Spring sports finalists will be announced in early June, along with winners for specialty awards such as best comeback, inspirational and scholar athletes, and a lifetime achievement award.
The winners for athletes of the year in each sport will be revealed at the eighth annual All-World Awards banquet, presented by Bill Knight Automotive, on Thursday, June 20 at the Cox Business Convention Center’s Legacy Hall. Tickets for the banquet are $75 and can be purchased at allworldawards.com – seating is limited. Check out the finalists announced so far by clicking the link provided.
