Fire Chief of Piscataway accused of vandalizing rare sports car with mud and rocks

Chief Josh Scolnick of the Piscataway fire department is facing a charge of criminal mischief after allegedly throwing mud and rocks onto a rare sports car belonging to Mark Bahna. Surveillance video from outside the fire department shows Scolnick tossing the bucket of rocks and mud onto the car twice on Saturday night. The car in question is a rare Nissan 270-R-Nismo race car imported from Japan and once owned by Japanese Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya.

Bahna expressed his disappointment over the damage caused to his prized possession, which now has scratch marks, a dent on the door, and cracks on the front bumper. Despite owning the building next to the fire station where the incident took place, Bahna claims he has never had any issues with the chief and is puzzled as to why his car was targeted.

He believes the fire chief’s actions were prompted by drainage water from the building running onto fire department property. However, Bahna contends that the drainage system was in place before he purchased the property and was unaware of any issues arising from it. As a result, Bahna has enlisted the help of an attorney and intends to seek compensation for the damages caused to his vehicle.

Efforts to contact Scolnick for a comment on the allegations were unsuccessful, and Fire District 3, responsible for managing the department, did not provide a response to inquiries made by News 12 New Jersey. The incident has left Bahna puzzled and in search of answers as he pursues legal action to address the harm done to his cherished race car.
