Last year, the Florida Panthers lost against the Las Vegas Knights in the Stanley Cup final. However, this year, the Panthers managed to beat the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in their franchise history. Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart scored for the Panthers, while Mattias Janmark scored for the Oilers, resulting in a 2-1 victory for the Panthers and a 4-3 series win.

The Oilers had initially trailed 3-0 in the series but fought back to force a deciding game. Florida coach Paul Maurice expressed his joy at finally winning the Stanley Cup, noting that it was a challenging journey for the Panthers. The Oilers were hoping to become just the second team in NHL history to overturn a 3-0 deficit to win the Stanley Cup.

The seventh and final game in the series took place in Florida, and Verhaeghe scored within four minutes and 27 seconds to give the Panthers the lead. Janmark equalized for the Oilers, but Reinhart scored the winning goal in the second period. Evan Rodrigues, who assisted in Verhaeghe’s goal, emphasized the difficulty of winning the Stanley Cup but praised the team for their hard work. The Panthers’ victory was a memorable and hard-earned achievement for the team.
