The first licensed street vendor in the Las Vegas Valley has officially opened for business at the Circle K Gas Station located off of Cactus Avenue. Aguas Frescas from Paletas Y Aguas LLC is the name of this street vendor, offering a variety of items such as agua frescas, fruit ice cream bars, and more. The business is owned by 16-year-old Alan Carrera and his father Manuel.

The Carrera family is the first to obtain a street vendor license since the county’s new ordinance came into effect in April. This ordinance requires vendors to have a business license, insurance, and health permits in order to operate legally in Clark County. Alan emphasizes the importance of the health permit, stating that passing the health inspection is crucial for operating as a street vendor.

The Carreras worked hard to ensure that their outdoor stand complied with all aspects of the new ordinance. On their opening day, they were met with lines of eager customers who were excited about the delicious treats being offered. Customers praised the ice cream bars and agua frescas for being refreshing and perfect for the hot weather.

Encouraging others to follow in their footsteps, the Carreras are urging fellow street vendors to apply for the necessary permits and licenses to operate legally. They plan to keep their stand open every day regardless of the weather conditions, from around 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Carreras are determined to provide a unique and tasty experience for their customers, showing that with determination and hard work, success is possible for any aspiring street vendor.
