Around 20,000 fans gathered at Maksimir to bid farewell to the Croatian national football team as they played their last match against Armenia in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Among the crowd, one fan stood out – Rafael Beserra, a Brazilian who is a devoted supporter of the Croatian national team.
Beserra first met his idol, Luka Modrić, at the end of the League of Nations in Rotterdam. Following this, he received an invitation from the Croatian Tourist Board and decided to move to Zagreb. He is currently studying Croatian and living his dream of being in Croatia.
Expressing his excitement, Beserra mentioned that this was his first time attending a national team match in Croatia. He also shared his Croatian language learning journey on social media and confidently predicted a 3-0 victory for the ‘fire’, with Modrić, Ivanušec, and Majer as the scorers. Furthermore, Beserra’s dedication to the national team was evident as he had already purchased tickets for the Euro in Germany.
