Jannik Sinner, playing in his first tournament as the world number one, claimed his first title at the Halle Open with a victory over Hubert Hurkacz. Securing his first grass-court title with a 7-6 (10-8) 7-6 (7-2) win over Hurkacz, Sinner has only lost three matches this season. These losses came from Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open and Indian Wells, and Stefanos Tsitsipas in Monte Carlo. As he prepares for Wimbledon, where he will be the top seed, Sinner aims to exceed his semi-final performance from last year.

In another tournament, Tommy Paul achieved the biggest title of his career by winning at Queen’s over Lorenzo Musetti. With this victory, Paul became the top-ranked American men’s player, moving to 12th in the world rankings. In the match, Paul quickly took control, making only two unforced errors in the first set. Although he faced some challenges in the second set with Musetti forcing a tie-break, Paul’s strong serve helped him secure victory on his third match point. In the doubles final, Britain’s Neal Skupski and New Zealander Michael Venus came from a set down to defeat Russian Karen Khachanov and American Taylor Fritz 4-6 7-6 (7-5) 10-8.
