After an official visit with the Florida football program last weekend, the Gators decided to extend a scholarship offer to punter Alex Asparuhov. Asparuhov is an unrated recruit in the 2025 cycle from Fresno, California. The 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound specialist received the offer from game-changer coordinator Chris Couch and senior analyst Joe Houston. The news of the offer was shared on Asparuhov’s personal Twitter account on Saturday morning.

With current punter Jeremy Crawshaw’s eligibility ending after the 2024 season and only Jack Muse as a walk-on behind him, the Gators are in need of depth in the specialists room. Asparuhov, with his impressive punting skills, could provide that boost.

According to his 247Sports scouting report, Asparuhov is considered one of the most fundamentally sound punters in the 2025 class. He performed well at the Underclassman Challenge and scored over 109 points on a cold night in December 2023. Additionally, at the Western Showcase Camp, Asparuhov graded out as a 5.0-star punter and 4.5-star kicker. His punting is particularly impressive, making him a college prospect in that field.

Asparuhov competed at the 2022 Kohl’s California Winter Showcase Camp and had a 39.5-yard average throughout the punt charting. His skills as a punter have caught the attention of scouts, and he is seen as a potential Division 1 player in the future. It will be exciting to see how he progresses this spring and summer.
