I recently had the opportunity to fly back-to-back on American Airlines and Delta Air Lines in domestic economy. One thing I noticed was that Delta has better WiFi options, while I preferred the in-flight entertainment set-up on American. Despite these differences, neither airline was a dealbreaker for me. In the future, my booking decisions will likely be based on price and convenience.
Growing up near the tiny Tallassee, Florida regional airport, my family primarily flew Delta Air Lines due to the limited flight options available. I have always been a fan of Delta due to their good customer service and usually on-time flights, which has carried over into my adulthood. However, recent changes to Delta’s SkyMiles program, which now relies on money spent rather than miles flown, has made loyalty less important to me.
Living near the New York City airports, American Airlines now has a significant presence, causing me to spend more time flying with them. While I was initially disappointed with American Airlines, I am slowly becoming a fan of the airline. To compare American to Delta, I flew back-to-back on both airlines in domestic economy class and found them to be different yet somewhat similar. Ultimately, I would book with either airline again if the price is right.
