Former NFL linemen Larry Allen passes away at the age of 52

Larry Allen, a legendary offensive lineman in the NFL and a Pro Football Hall of Famer, has passed away at the age of 52. The Dallas Cowboys, where Allen spent the majority of his career, announced his sudden passing while vacationing in Mexico with his family. Known for his athleticism, incredible strength, and versatility, Allen was one of the most respected offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL. He was a Super Bowl Champion, a member of the Cowboys Ring of Honor, and deeply loved by his family.

When the Cowboys selected Allen in the second round of the 1994 draft, he quickly made a name for himself in the league. He started 10 games as a rookie and went on to be named a first-team All-Pro seven times in his career. Allen’s strength was legendary, both on the field where he dominated opponents and in the weight room where he could bench press 700 pounds. He was also surprisingly fast for his size, as demonstrated by a memorable tackle he made during a Monday Night Football game as a rookie.

Allen played for the Cowboys from 1994 to 2005 before finishing his career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2006 and 2007. He was a member of the All-Decade Teams for both the 1990s and 2000s, as well as the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. Allen’s legacy as a great teammate, competitor, and winner continues to inspire players both on and off the field. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, and all who knew him.
