G.T. Bynum has been the mayor of Tulsa since 2016 and is now planning to join the Saint Francis Health System as the vice president of community and government affairs after his term ends this year. The announcement was made by Saint Francis Health System President and CEO Dr. Cliff Robertson on Saturday, expressing his pride in adding Mayor Bynum to the team. Dr. Robertson commended Mayor Bynum’s leadership following the 2022 tragedy at the Natalie Building, describing him as a smart and compassionate leader who prioritizes strategy and data-driven decision-making.

After leaving office in December, Mayor Bynum will take on the role of overseeing community and government affairs at Saint Francis. Mayor Bynum expressed his admiration for the health system, highlighting the team, mission, and culture of excellence established by the Warren family and other healthcare leaders in the community over the past 64 years. He emphasized his love for working in service to those who save lives and his gratitude for being able to apply his experience from 25 years in public service to benefit the Saint Francis Health System.

Prior to becoming mayor, Bynum served on the Tulsa City Council for eight years and was reelected in 2020. His transition to Saint Francis marks a new chapter in his career, where he will continue to contribute to the community in a different capacity.
