The City of Fort Pierce has announced an expansion of their free on-demand ride-share service, “Freebee.” The service is now operating with extended hours and will cover more areas in Fort Pierce to provide transportation to residents. Mayor Linda Hudson mentioned that funding has been secured to keep the program running for a few more years.

The goal of the “Freebee” service is to support local businesses in Fort Pierce by providing transportation to areas with limited parking. This allows more people to visit businesses without the hassle of finding parking. Additionally, the service helps ease traffic congestion in the area by providing a ride-share option for residents.

Not only does the service benefit local businesses, but it also serves as a safe transportation option for residents attending events, concerts, or restaurants. Mayor Hudson emphasized that the program is an economic tool to support businesses and help senior citizens in the community.

The service is free, and residents can book a ride through the “Ride Freebee” app on their phone or by calling 855-918-3733. The funding for the program comes from a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation, with the County contributing to the costs. The extended hours of operation and expanded coverage map aim to provide more residents with access to free transportation in Fort Pierce.
