Epic has recently announced that they are finalizing the arrival of Fortnite on the iPhone through the Epic Games Store. They have sent both the title and the official store to Apple as part of the notarization process required for the launch. This comes in light of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the European Union, which obliges companies like Apple to allow parallel downloading of services and offer external payment gateways for developers to incorporate their own payment methods.

One of the main beneficiaries of this regulation will be Epic Games, who previously faced off against Apple for introducing an alternative payment system on the App Store. This led to Apple deleting all their applications from the platform. After suspending Epic Games’ development account in March, Apple has committed to reinstating it in order to move forward with the launch of the Epic Games Store on iOS devices as planned.

Epic Games has now confirmed that they have submitted their official app store and Fortnite to Apple as part of the required notarization process. The launch of the Epic Games Store and Fortnite on iPhones in the EU is set to happen in the coming months, with plans to bring their games to other mobile application stores as well. They are aiming to work with stores that offer favorable conditions to all developers.
