Four hostages rescued alive by Israel in central Gaza.

The Israeli Army announced on Saturday that it had successfully rescued four hostages who were kidnapped in an attack by Palestinian militias on October 7. The hostages were identified as Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv, all of whom were taken during the Supernova music festival. The operation took place in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the center of the Gaza Strip.

The rescue mission was carried out in two stages, targeting hideouts of Hamas militias within the refugee camp. Noa Argamani was freed from one location, while the other three hostages were safely extracted from the second target. Tragically, one of the commandos involved in the operation, Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora, lost his life during the rescue mission.

Fortunately, all four hostages are in good health and are currently receiving medical attention at Tel Hashomer hospital. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended the joint forces for their bravery and determination in successfully bringing the hostages home. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also praised the operation as one of the most heroic he had witnessed during his 47-year career in Israel’s defense system.

In response to the rescue operation, the former chief of the General Staff, Benny Gantz, decided to cancel his planned appearance, where he was expected to announce his resignation. Meanwhile, health authorities in the Gaza Strip reported civilian casualties due to Israeli bombings during the rescue mission, with at least 150 reported deceased and dozens injured.

Despite the challenges and risks involved, the successful rescue of the hostages showcased Israel’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
