Four people were arrested by British police on Tuesday on suspicion of trespassing after entering the grounds of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s property in northern England. The arrests come during a general election campaign where Sunak is battling to overcome the centre-left Labour Party’s large lead in the polls.

North Yorkshire Police stated that they arrested the four individuals in the grounds of the Prime Minister’s constituency home and that their officers were on the scene within one minute of the trespass. The suspects, aged between 20 and 52 and from different parts of the country, were taken into police custody for questioning and investigations are ongoing.

A video posted on X (Twitter) by the group Youth Demand showed a young man entering the property and defecating into what they claim is a lake on Sunak’s property. The group released a statement criticizing the Conservative government for various issues such as polluted rivers, crumbling schools, and the destruction of the NHS.

This is not the first time that Sunak’s home has been targeted. Last summer, Greenpeace activists covered it in oil-black sheets to protest against the government’s decision to grant new oil and gas licenses.
