Four students from the local area graduate from the MS School for Mathematics and Science – The Oxford Eagle

Four local students recently graduated from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, with the ceremony taking place in May. This graduating class has collectively accepted over $7.9 million out of the $32 million in scholarships that were offered to attend universities both in Mississippi and across the nation.

Among the local students who graduated are Lila Christine Jacks from Oxford, who previously attended Oxford High School and is the child of Jacks Tom and Katie Jacks. Lila will be furthering her education at Clemson University starting this fall. Ava Grace Noe from Paris, who previously attended Lafayette High School, is the child of Nathan Noe and Jennifer Noe. Ava Grace will be attending Mississippi State University in the upcoming academic year.

Max Russell Wolf Flaschka is another graduate from Oxford, having previously attended Oxford High School and being the child of Walter Flaschka and Shanna Flaschka. Max will be continuing his education at Case Western Reserve University this fall. Additionally, Ava Elizabeth Wilson from Oxford, who also previously attended Oxford High School, is the child of Whitt Wilson and Amy Catherine Wilson. Ava will be attending Mississippi State University starting this fall.

The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, which was established in 1987 and is located on the campus of the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, is renowned as the state’s nationally recognized residential high school catering to academically advanced 11th and 12th graders.
