The free FIT-Together program at Franciscan Health Michigan City is now open for registration. This program is designed to promote family-centered health and wellness and is a six-week program for households with children aged 8 to 15. It focuses on the well-being of all family members, including children, parents, and siblings.
FIT-Together covers healthy choices in activities, relationships, and emotional health. It includes individual and family-centered physical activities, tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle with Trainer Ron Gaston, cooking and meal prep sessions with Chef Nakia, and weekly meal kits for the entire family.
Participants will learn about the seven Cs of family resilience, which include control, competence, coping, confidence, connection, character, and contribution. The program takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 4 to July 18 at The Temple Total Fitness Center in Michigan City.
The program is made possible through a partnership between Franciscan Health Michigan City, General Insurance Services, Bowen Center, Kia Can Cook, and The Temple Total Fitness Center. Although the program is free, registration is required. To register and learn more, contact Nila Williams at Nila.Williams@franciscanalliance.org or (219) 283-9649. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes to all sessions.
