From Grammy Winner to Global Domination: Tyla’s Takeover

She was raised listening to artists like Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men, and Brian McKnight, with music being a huge part of her family. They would often come together to sing and dance, as her grandmother was a singer in her day. It was always the plan for her to pursue music, as she knew since the beginning and everyone else did too.

She never turned down an opportunity to perform, whether it was talent shows or soirees, singing songs by artists like Adele, Miley Cyrus, and Whitney Houston. Her journey in music began in high school when she first entered a recording studio, and since then, she has been working on finding her sound and identity as an artist, making mistakes along the way that have led her to where she is now.

Reflecting on the success of her song “Water” reaching number one on the R&B charts feels surreal to her. She and her best friend constantly talk about how far they’ve come in the past few years, and although it may seem sudden from the outside, to her, it feels like the right time.

Her family couldn’t be more proud, with her parents even attending the Grammy Awards as her dates. Winning was a moment of peace for her, and seeing her parents’ emotional reactions made it even more special. Driving back home, blasting “Water” in the car, they were all filled with happiness.

Although her album may offer a new sound for some listeners, she encourages them to approach it with an open mind. The music makes her feel good, and she hopes it can do the same for others.

Due to an injury, Tyla’s tour was postponed from spring to summer, allowing her more time to prepare and promising a bigger and better experience for her fans. Get ready for an unforgettable show.
