Bilawal Sidhu, a former Google Product Manager, has transitioned into a creative technologist and the host of the TED AI Show. Additionally, he works as a scout for the venture capital firm a16z. Recently, fxguide had the privilege of joining Bilawal on stage at FMX in Germany, and we are excited to have him on this fxpodcast to explore topics such as spatial intelligence, visual intelligence, and generative AI in the media and entertainment industry.
During his six years at Google, Bilawal worked as a senior product manager, contributing to the development of VR camera systems, YouTube VR experiences, computer vision, and AI-powered VFX tools. His team also focused on 3D mapping using aerial and ground-level sensors, as well as reimagining Google Maps with Immersive View.
Currently, Bilawal serves as an angel investor and scout for a16z, concentrating on early-stage startups in generative AI, perception AI, and spatial computing. He is also the host of The TED AI Show, a podcast that offers insights on navigating a world that is rapidly changing due to AI technology. One of his notable podcast episodes, “What Really Went Down at OpenAI and the Future of Regulation with Helen Toner,” provided a behind-the-scenes look at OpenAI’s boardroom dynamics.
