SGT. Coffee Co. is a new walk-up shop in Gahanna that has been a dream come true for married couple Ryan and Brandi Sargent after a decade of planning. The shop, located at 106 Short St., finally started serving coffee on Monday. The idea to start a business together emerged from the couple’s early morning coffee dates and exploration of different coffee flavors as part of the Columbus coffee tour they embarked on. With a dream in mind, their love for coffee and each other fueled their desire to turn this dream into a reality.

Ryan, an army veteran himself, and Brandi have decided to use their coffee shop as a platform to support local veteran non-profit organizations. The shop also honors the memory of a family member who was a veteran by creating a special drink named after him. Proceeds from the sale of this drink will be donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation. With the goal of giving back to the community and honoring the sacrifices made by veterans, the Sargents have found a meaningful way to connect their passion for coffee with a noble cause.

The mobile pop-up camper that serves as the setting for SGT. Coffee Co. has been transformed into a walk-up coffee shop. The shop offers a variety of coffees, sparkling drinks, and tea sourced from Crimson Cup for their flavors, syrups, and sauces. Starting from the first week of July, the shop will also serve vegan and gluten-free pastries from Madelyn’s of Granville. Operating from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays, SGT. Coffee Co. aims to bring people together over a cup of coffee while supporting those who have served in the military.
