Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova emerged as the champions of the French Open women’s doubles after defeating the Italian pair Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani in a convincing 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 victory. This win marked Gauff’s first major doubles title and Siniakova’s third in Paris, making it her eighth overall.
Unfortunately, Paolini faced her second Grand Slam final defeat in as many days, after losing to Iga Swiatek in the women’s singles final on Saturday. In the men’s doubles final, Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic secured the title with a 7-5 6-3 win over Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori.
Gauff teamed up with Siniakova for the first time at a major tournament, as her usual partner Jessica Pegula had to withdraw due to injury. The duo had previously reached the French Open final together in 2022, but this time they emerged victorious. Gauff expressed her gratitude to Siniakova for inviting her to play, as it was a last-minute decision that turned out to be incredibly successful.
