General Dynamics Bath Iron Works partners with CMCC for innovative manufacturing technology

Central Maine Community College (CMCC) has announced the launch of a new Manufacturing Technology short-term training program in collaboration with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. This program is designed to equip students with essential skills and hands-on experience to prepare them for successful careers in the manufacturing industry.

The program will last for 3 weeks, with students expected to attend 40 hours per week, totaling 120 hours of training. Participants will receive a $500 attendance incentive each week, and the program is completely free of cost. No prior experience is required to enroll.

The training curriculum will cover a wide range of topics, including technical math, hand & power tool operation & safety, oxy cutting, track welding, basic layout, material handling, drilling & fastening, and other essential manufacturing skills. Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to interview with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works for potential job opportunities.
