Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is holding an Open House for its Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program to allow individuals to tour the facilities, meet with instructors, staff, and students. The event is scheduled to take place in Room 6103 of Building 600 on GNTC’s Walker County Campus at 265 Bicentennial Trail, Rock Spring on Monday, June 3, from 4-6 p.m.
The ASN program at GNTC covers academic and occupational courses, as well as a range of clinical experiences that blend theory and practice under the guidance of clinical instructors. The program offers access to laboratory equipment that includes Gaumard patient simulators, or manikins, to mimic various aspects of human patient physiology, such as respiration, heart rate, and pulse.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates earn an associate degree in Nursing and become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Allison Patnode, the dean of Nursing and Health Technologies at GNTC, expressed excitement about continuing to offer the ASN program on the Walker County Campus and looks forward to preparing more students for careers in nursing. For additional information, individuals can contact Michelle Spears-Sevy, the Registered Nursing program administrator, at msevy@gntc.edu or 706-764-3829.
