Bryan Kalbrosky of For the Win has highlighted the key players in men’s college basketball emerging from the transfer portal. The upcoming holiday tournaments, particularly the star-studded one in Hawaii, are expected to bring about significant changes in the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll.
In the most recent poll, there has been minimal shakeup, with the top nine teams holding steady. Kansas remains at the top, followed by Purdue and Arizona. The field for the Maui Invitational features half of the top 10 teams, including Kansas, Purdue, Marquette, Tennessee, and Gonzaga. No. 24 UCLA and No. 20 Florida Atlantic are also participating, making it a highly competitive event.
Following a loss to Bryant, Florida Atlantic dropped 10 spots but remained in the poll, while Colorado, Memphis, and Mississippi State entered the rankings. As a result, Arkansas, Southern California, Villanova, and Saint Mary’s dropped out of the top 25, replacing Virginia and UCLA. The upcoming changes in the rankings are eagerly anticipated.
