Think back about 19 or 20 months ago when OpenAI launched ChatGPT with Microsoft as its primary customer, gaining visibility and first-mover status in the world. Since then, Google Cloud has been working hard to close the gap, introducing new models challenging offerings from OpenAI and Microsoft.

Google Cloud is striving to position Vertex AI as the most “enterprise-ready” GenAI platform by rolling out new products tailored to the needs of enterprise customers at different levels. Gemini 1.5 Flash is one of these new models, ideal for applications like retail chat, document processing, and large-scale data processing for research.

The competitive landscape in AI technology is intense, with Microsoft and OpenAI holding first-mover status, while Google Cloud is aggressively pushing back to take the lead. This competition will likely draw more enterprises into the fray as they seek the most enterprise-ready AI solutions.

Ultimately, the Cloud Wars in the AI ecosystem will result in significant benefits for customers as companies like Microsoft and Google Cloud vie for the title of most enterprise-ready AI platform.
