The NASCAR Xfinity Series has returned to Sonoma Raceway for the second consecutive year, with Aric Almirola emerging as the victor in the inaugural Xfinity race at the Northern California road course. The series has seen nine different winners in the last nine races, with Shane van Gisbergen claiming victory at Portland International Raceway last weekend.
The details for Saturday’s Xfinity race at Sonoma Raceway are as follows: The command to start engines will be given at 8:08 p.m. by Kelsey Plum of the Las Vegas Aces. The green flag is set to wave at 8:20 p.m. Pre-race events include the garage opening at 11 a.m., qualifying at 3:30 p.m., driver introductions at 7:35 p.m., invocation by Billy Mauldin at 8 p.m., and the national anthem performed by Kristen Brown at 8:01 p.m. The race will consist of 79 laps covering 156.95 miles on the 1.99-mile road course.
Stages for the race include Stage 1 ending at Lap 20 and Stage 2 concluding at Lap 45. The starting lineup will be determined through qualifying at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The race will be broadcast on FS1 at 8 p.m. with pre-race coverage starting at 7:30 p.m. Performance Racing Network will provide radio coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. The weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of 78 degrees and no chance of rain at race start time.
