Halsey, Grammy-Nominated Singer, Opens Up About Her Health Struggle

Halsey recently shared details about her upcoming fifth studio album and its first single, The End. Along with this announcement, she opened up about her serious health issues, expressing gratitude for being alive. Although she did not initially specify her ailments, she included links to the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her post.

In a subsequent post, Halsey revealed more about her health struggles. She disclosed that she was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022, both of which will likely stay with her for life. Despite a challenging start, she managed to get her conditions under control with the help of doctors over two years.

The singer expressed her appreciation for the support she received from her fans and her excitement to return to making music. Halsey’s single, The End, includes a line about her frequent battles with illness, referencing how her doctors tell her she’s sick every couple of years.

Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, gained fame for her hit track “Closer” with The Chainsmokers and her U.S. platinum debut album, “Badlands.” In one Instagram video, she discussed her plans to have a rebirth at the age of 30, free from illness and full of energy, to redo her 20s in her 30s.

Despite her recent revelations, Halsey has been candid about her health struggles in the past, acknowledging that she has dealt with various illnesses throughout her adult life. She previously discussed her experiences with endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, Sjogren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome.
