Hawaiian Airlines Reveals Striking Business and Economy Cabins on Latest Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Hawaiian Airlines has upgraded their flying experience with the launch of their new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner cabin in November. The business class cabin features the new Reihoku Suite by Hawaiian, while the economy class cabin provides entertainment screens and power ports for a more comfortable ride. With 12 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on order, soon these fuel-efficient planes will be flying to destinations in Asia and across the Pacific.

Hawaiian’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s business class features 34 suites in a 1-2-1 configuration, equipped with Adient Aerospace Ascent products for maximum privacy, with the middle seats facing each other. Each seat has amenities such as an 18-inch entertainment screen, universal AC, USB-A, USB-C outlets, and a Qi wireless charging pad. The suite’s doors can be closed to create a “lovely living room experience” for two people, according to Avi Manis, Hawaiian Airlines’ chief marketing and communications officer. The Dreamliner also features a starry sky ceiling light to enhance the sleeping experience.

The Dreamliner’s economy class cabin boasts 266 seats in a 3-3 configuration, with most seats having a pitch of 31 inches. The Extra Comfort section offers an increased pitch of 4 inches, more legroom, and access to universal AC outlets. The Dreamliner’s design also showcases Hawaiian culture, with its small details, such as incorporating the Hawaiian language into seat numbers and onboard placards.

The Dreamliner does not have a premium economy cabin, Bluetooth connectivity, power outlets in standard economy seats, or Wi-Fi at the moment. Hawaiian Airlines is prioritizing the introduction of fast, free Wi-Fi on its medium- and long-haul flights, with internet access for the Dreamliner “in the next year or so” according to Manis.

Overall, Hawaiian Airlines’ Dreamliner provides a significant improvement compared to their existing Airbus A330, especially for long-haul flights. Hawaiian Airlines has delivered the first of its 12 Dreamliners in November, with the remaining deliveries planned for 2027.
